L-Pads

The design objectives behind Hugger's original L-Pads is to combine the sealing capability of a compression seal with the versatility of a truck shelter, while at the same time eliminating any pressure on the building wall and providing complete access to the truck. Hugger manufacturers two styles: the very versatile model Hugger 1, which will handle up to a 10'-wide door and the less expensive, more shallow Hugger 2 which can accomodate up to a 9'6" wide door. Hugger's design features a highly resilent foam bolster plus the 2" thick rigid foam L-face. The high quality foam in the face has excellent "memory" which guarantees that the unit will keep its shape and maintain the proper seal with the truck for a much longer life. Hugger models are constructed using wolmanized lumber, vertical backboards, and a wood-framed canopy header. Even the basic unit with a 22-oz. vinyl cover includes 40-oz. vinyl fabric on the seal faces to increase the seal's longevity and wearability. The fixed-lip option will stop the flow of air on swing door trailers by covering the gap caused by the hinges on the door. The rain trough option fits across the front edge of the canopy header to deflect rain water to the sides of the truck and door opening as it runs off the top of the L-Pad.
